There again Mozilla Community Rajasthan organized a rocking event at one of the best colleges of Rajasthan (Mody Institute of Technology and Science – MITS). We started event at 10:00 AM by inaugurating MozillaMITS club continued by introductory session of Mozilla and Mozilla mission by Prachi Jain.
All newbies were interested in knowing about mozilla and its products. An idea about mozilla products was given like Thunderbird, Persona, Firebug, Webmaker etc. Next session was taken by Mr. Meghraj Suthar, he gave a brief introduction about open source. Actually students were not aware of open source. Today they realized that how their freedom is different than actual freedom.
He also told them about various open source communities and how to contribute in those communities? Students were quite happy to see what they can do in open source and how they can customize any open source product according to there need.
I think you can clearly see happiness on their face, they were really excited :). Open source lovers.
Next session was taken by Mr. Osho Parth, describing in depth about open source and making session pretty interesting by asking them simple questions and rewarding every answer with some cool goodies.
Goodies 🙂 🙂
Then Mr. Raj Rohit took session, introducing students to Data Science that includes handling of data, machine learning, artificial intelligence, etc. continuing his session about FOSS in data science.
Students were amazed by seeing that app development in Firefox OS is damn easy and they were planning to start HTML5 right from today so that they can publish a new app in marketplace that will be useful for users.
Then it was time for introducing Webmaker session to newbies, Mr. Lavish Aggarwal(me) introduced students about webmaker and why to use webmaker.
then I introduced them about webmaker tools i.e. X-Ray Goggles, Thimble, Popcorn. Students were literally shocked when I showed them demo of X-Ray Goggles, they were amazed by this awesome tool of webmaker :).
The next session was taken by Mr. Osho Parth, discussing about Firefox OS, actually why there is need of Firefox OS and how it is beneficial? He told them about layers and architecture of Firefox OS.
The last session was taken by me to inform them How to contribute in mozilla and codebase. As there were many code lovers who were interested in knowing that how they can contribute using various languages.
Students wanted us to introduce ourselves so we packed up session by introducing ourselves 🙂
